"Are we humans, or are we dancers?" There are two choices. To be h u m a n and to have the opportunities that humans do, but to hide our feelings, or to be a d a n c e r--to lay your feelings bare--to wear your heart on your sleeve, but the bliss can't last long. Also, I believe it means that dancers are different. Every dancer has their own style--there will never be another Pavlova or Nijinsky, nor can they be compared to each other. Technique, grace, etc. are all factors in what kind of dancer one is--and the combination makes for very difference and very unique dancers. Humans, on the other hand, are prone to conformity. We want to "fit in"-- no one wants to be different anymore. Rebels are usually smothered down, or until their voices are so loud that even the part of human nature that tells us to be quiet is deafened. We all have to be "fashionable" because that's what society values--beauty over brains (though "fashion" these days is pretty ugly). Yes, the shoes are mine: Chacotts (no way was I photographing my brand-spanking-new--well, no, they're broken in--Grishkos, no matter how much I hate them) from last year. .::EDIT::. 04/04/09 Speaking of the utterly ironic, I was at a Swan Lake rehersal today, and waiting for my (very tardy) father to pick me up when I heard them blasting "Human" by The Killers in the other studio. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
